Project Violet Exploration - Classroom Resources: Molecular 3D Paper Folding

Ideas and resources to bring Project Violet to the classroom through science and exploration.

Basic Overview

Hefutoxin is a small toxin molecule, containing 22 amino acids, from the venom of the Asian forest black scorpion. It is also one of the molecules being researched in Project Violet. The way a protein 'folds' determines its shape and function. Students can discover how this molecule folds up by creating their own 3D paper model of it.
