Description

The Eigenfactor® Project is an academic research project co-founded in January 2007 by Carl Bergstrom and Jevin West, and sponsored by the West Lab at the Information School and the Bergstrom Lab in the Department of Biology at the University of Washington. They launched the Eigenfactor project in January 2007 in order to provide the scientific community with what we believe to be a better method of evaluating the influence of scholarly journals. The Eigenfactor.org website provided a searchable database of Eigenfactor scores and Article Influence scores for the numerous journals covered in Thomson-Reuters Journal Citation Reports. Years later, the scope of the Eigenfactor Project has expanded considerably, but the disseminating the Eigenfactor metrics remain a core part of the mission. Our Journal Ranking tool provides a web interface through which researchers, librarians, and other interested parties can rank journals by field and track changes in influence over time.
